Text

Amor che nel pensier mio viv'e regna
d'est'alta donna sopra ogn'altra insegna

Amor, Amor ogni pensier m'enduce
con dolce affanno ben servire amore.
per= che d'ogne nobelta traluce
la donna in vista fonte de valore.

Donca ben piaza al mio degno segnore
che mi conservi in questa donna degna.

Translation

O living Love who rules over my thoughts
of this high woman, your best standard-bearer;

O Love, Love, every thought induces me
to serve my beloved with sweet eagerness.
because the lady I see, fountainhead of all virtue.
shines with every sign of nobility.

Therefore may it please you, my worthy Lord
to preserve me in the esteem of this worthy woman.
