Text

Quel digno de memoria se p= dire.
che con virt· vol soa vita finire.

Lassando 'l vizio e operar virtute
como chiar vede chi ben ver diparte.
conduce l'omo a perfeta salute.
Possa 'l corso del ciel la vita imparte.
s8 con Apollo o s8 col fiero Marte
l'un il fa co l'altro in presio salire.

Translation

One can say that a man is worth remembering
who wants to end his life with virtue.

To forgo vice and to do virtuous deeds
leads a man to perfect salvation.
as anyone can clearly see who well discerns truth.
Since our life proceeds from the course of Heaven.
be it under Apollo or the fierce Mars.
to do one as well as the other increases its worth.
