Roses et lis ay veu en une flour
qui moult flurrist et sueut fructifier.
fruis composTs de flourie valour
qui les mourans feront vivifier.

se le soloil l'acompaigne
en Engaddy la precieuse vingne.
dont la fleur fait les mors ressusciter.
Si lo la flour plus que ne puis dicter.

Moult est noble et [sa] soverayne oudour;
tost espandra quant le grant jardinier
l'uis ouveura qui l'enclost en destour
et sez buissons fera ravisier.

Que lumbre plus ne l'atiengne
qui le bon fruit empiesche que deviegne
tel com souloit la flour jardis porter.
Si lo la flour [plus que ne puis dicter.]

Le tamps est pres que l'estT oit retour.
L'iver s'en va qui seult mortifier
lez flours; aucuns aspirent par honnour
et pour neistre veulent redifier

et en hault lever l'ensengne
qui du ciel vient, a ce qu'a tous souviegne
que sur toutes est de magnifier.
Si lo la flour plus que ne puis dicter.

Translation

Roses and lilies have I seen in a flower
which flourishes greatly, and brings to fruition
fruit composed of sweet worth
which will make the dying quicken.

If the sun accompanies the vine
to Engaddy, the precious vine.
whose flower makes the dead revive.
then I praise the flower more than I can say.

It is very noble and its sovereign perfume
will quickly be diffused when the Great Gardener
opens the door which encloses and hides it
revealing its vegetation for all to see once more.

May the shade no longer touch it.
which prevents the good fruit from becoming
as it was when long ago the flower used to bring forth such fruit.
I praise the flower more than I can say.

The time is near for summer to be restored;
winter departs which destroys
the flowers; some people look forward to 'birth' after death out of
and through being born wish to restore to honour [honour.

and raise on high the ensign
which comes from heaven, so that all may bear in mind
that magnifying the glory of God is more significant than all manner
