Amor, gia lungo tempo el tuo bel foco
s8 fu di me signore.

Quest'angelica luce, che m'ha preso.
chiamo, ch'aiuto porg'a la mie pena.
ben che contento sia d'essere acceso
di tal bilta, legato in suo catena.
Amor, deh fa', cos8 com'ella F piena
d'ogni altro gran valore.
ch'ella non sia di tua pieta di fore.

Translation

For a long time, Love, your beautiful fire
had mastery over me.
so that it fills my heart in every part.

I call this heavenly light, who has conquered me.
so that it may bring solace to my pain.
although I am happy to be so enflamed
by such a beauty, fettered in her chain.
And since she is full of every great worth.
Love, make it so, I pray.
that she may not be left outside your grace.
